All my interactions with Ashish was on the phone & I took the leap of faith to enroll myself for the wildlife photography workshop last month.
My first meeting with Ashish was in Ramanagaram where the rest of the participants of the workshop were busy shooting the vultures. I came in a bit late by then the team were already on top of the hill.
To my surprise, Ashish came all the way down just to receive me, that gesture actually moved me. Once atop the hill, the theory classes started. He asked me to shoot the landscape in front of us & asked me as what my camera settings were & why? Immediately I knew, that Ashish had no agenda but to make us learn. He customized the learnings to each one of the participants based on our levels.
After our safari in the jungle, we had our theory classes again, where in he patiently answered all the questions posed by the participants. On the day of our departure to Bangalore, the classes were held till the resort persons asked to vacate the rooms.
I am happy that I enrolled myself in the wildlife workshop where I learnt the finer aspects of white balance, ISO settings & picture composition. Thank you Ashish, I am now taking better pictures.
I look forward to joining the next wildlife workshop again. The only aspect where Ashish failed was to organize a tiger for us to shoot (with the camera!). Hope the next time you can do it. If tiger is difficult to organize, I am ok with a leopard too :)
